Heads up Ladera Ranch residents, it’s that time of year again! Time to lace up those walking shoes and pour yourself some coffee because the American Cancer Society will be presenting its Relay for Life fundraiser this Friday, June 24th.
Relay for Life is the main volunteer-driven cancer fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. Originating in the United States, the Relay for Life event has spread to 21 countries worldwide. Relay events are held in local communities, campus universities, military bases, and in cyberspace.
While the main goal of these events is to raise money for cancer research, it is also held to spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against cancer.
It is estimated that Relay for Life events have raised over 3 billion dollars to date.
The event will take place at Stoneybrooke Christian School beginning at 6pm on Friday, June 24th and will go until 6pm Saturday, June 25th. The event will begin with the campout and end with a fun family carnival for all in attendance.
Admission is free, although you must join a team, and donations are greatly appreciated. See if your team can raise the most!
